<br>Are you a strategic finance professional ready to lead with vision and integrity? The <b>Palmdale Water District</b> is seeking a seasoned <b>Finance Manager/Chief Financial Officer (CFO)</b> to oversee the financial operations of one of California’s most innovative water agencies.
<br>
<br>In this key executive role, you will provide strategic oversight for accounting, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, debt management, and financial reporting while leading a dedicated team. Reporting directly to the General Manager/CEO, you’ll play a pivotal role in organizational planning, policy development, and interdepartmental coordination. This is an exciting opportunity to shape financial strategy and support the District’s long-term sustainability and service excellence.

<br><b>Key Responsibilities:</b>
<br>
<br><ul type=bullet style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0"><li> Lead all functions of the Finance Department, including compliance with GAAP, GASB, and local/state laws
<li> Manage short- and long-term financial planning, debt issuance, and investment strategies
<li> Oversee preparation and administration of the District-wide annual budget
<li> Serve as Treasurer and Auditor/Controller for Joint Powers Authorities
<li> Supervise and develop departmental staff
<li> Represent the District in key external partnerships and negotiations
</ul>
<br><b>Ideal Candidate:</b>
<br>
<br><ul type=bullet style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0"><li> 10+ years of progressively responsible financial management experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role
<li> Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, public/business administration, or a related field (Master’s or CPA preferred)
<li> Strong working knowledge of public sector financial systems, debt issuance, and policy development
<li> An adaptive leader with excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
</ul>
