The Strasburg Fire Protection District is seeking a Fire Chief with a proven track record for exerting strong leadership and inspiring a culture of collaboration. The ideal candidate will establish high standards and hold people accountable while serving as a mentor and coach. The future Fire Chief will be open minded and possess a leadership style that fosters a culture of respect, prioritizes the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of the team, and maintains calm, decisive adaptability in the face of challenges.
The position requires a bachelor's degree level of study in fire science, public administration, or a closely related field OR equivalent work experience and at least ten (10) years of experience in fire and emergency medical service with progressive supervisory experience to include at least two years of upper-level public safety management in a paid position. Two years of relevant management or administrative experience is also required. The Fire Chief is required to maintain or establish a residence within a 20-minute response time of the district's headquarters within 6 months of employment. In district is preferred.
