Yuma County, AZ is seeking an experienced, collaborative Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who can provide exceptional leadership to this stable and financially strong County. This is a wonderful opportunity to play a significant role in an area that is often called the sunniest place on Earth.
The CFO will oversee 22 employees in five divisions: Compliance, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Financial Reporting and General Ledger. The County has a AAA bond rating and has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting issued by the GFOA from 2001 to the present. The current director is retiring after 26 years of service and seven years in the position.
Candidates at a minimum should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Public or Business Administration or a closely related field, and a minimum of seven (7) years of increasingly responsible professional financial management experience, preferably in government financial operations, and at least three (3) years of supervisory experience. CPA or CPFO is preferred but not required.
