<br>Annual salary range: $246,426 to $302,548</b>

<br>Appointed by, and reporting to the VCERA Board of Retirement, the Retirement Administrator, who acts as the CEO, oversees the policies, procedures and regulations of the Board of Retirement and the provisions of the County Employees Retirement Law of 1937. The position is responsible for directing the operation of the VCERA retirement system, implementing Board policy, and providing administrative support to the Chief Investment Officer in the coordination and implementation of actions of investment and consulting firms. The position serves as the advisor to the Board of Retirement and is an at-will employee.

<br>The ideal candidate will be an experienced and highly ethical professional possessing outstanding interpersonal, technical, and management skills. He/she will be able to immediately assume a leadership role and have a track record of maintaining strong teams and engaging staff for maximum development. The next Administrator will build and maintain trust, mutual respect, and close working relationships with the Board of Retirement, County executive team, and a myriad of external stakeholders. A ‘working administrator’ adept at decision-making and establishing clear roles and responsibilities who also possesses the ability to navigate the conflicts and differences of opinion that can arise in the public arena is essential in this role. A dedication to the success of the organization and ‘pride in ownership’ will serve the next Retirement Administrator well.

<br><b>Education/Experience</b>
<br>A Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, economics, finance, accounting or a related field, and five (5) years of responsible administrative and financial experience in public or private finance is expected. Retirement administration experience is highly desirable.
