<br>Located in California’s beautiful capital city, the Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System is a public employee retirement system including the County of Sacramento, Superior Court of California in Sacramento, and eleven special districts.
<br>
<br>The ideal candidate possesses knowledge and experience specific to the operation of a public retirement system, including advising a multimember governing body, and will have the ability to establish an effective working relationship with a diverse group of customers. The General Counsel is a key member of the executive team and plays a significant role in policymaking and leadership of the organization. Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal – are essential to the General Counsel’s success in order to present technical information in an easily understood manner to any type of audience. Creative problem-solvers who are resourceful in ascertaining information quickly and accurately and adept at finding a path through difficult issues will thrive in this environment.

<br><b>Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for a General Counsel. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of seven years of progressively responsible experience in a comparable legal environment, including involvement with litigation and program management. Must have a Juris Doctor degree from a fully accredited American Bar Association approved law school or equivalent qualification. License: Current membership in the California State Bar.</b>
