Metro) plans, administers, designs, constructs, and operates one of the nationís largest transit and rail transportation systems in Los Angeles County. Additionally, it is one of the nationís largest funders of multi-modal transportation and goods movement projects.
LA Metro is building a new ESOC facility which will be up and running by 2021. The Deputy Executive Officer of the Emergency Security Operations Center will lead the day to day management and operations of security technologies, communications and intelligence systems. A background in security technologies and a SECRET level federal security clearance is required OR the ability to obtain a SECRET level clearance within 18 months of employment.
The successful candidate should have a detailed understanding of security threats to the mass transit infrastructure, as well as knowledge of how technology can be used to mitigate such threats. The candidate will have an established track record researching, recommending and implementing security technologies in the transit environment, managing complex capital projects, and briefing senior executive staff on security options. The successful candidate is an innovator, capable of designing and implementing a world class system to ensure seamless and real-time communications between transit security personnel, law enforcement and LA Metroís federal partners. A Bachelorís Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Homeland Security, Emergency Management or a related field and five (5) years management-level experience in identifying, implementing and/or leading technology solutions focused on safeguarding the mass transit critical infrastructure, experience in project management (certification is helpful) and contract management experience is required. A Masterís Degree is desirable.
