The Supervising Nurse Case Manager is responsible for conducting paramedicals and providing other medical case management activities. The main purpose is to provide nursing expertise to Adult Protective Services (APS), In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), Child Protective Services (CPS) and Foster Care Children. In assessing and providing case management of complex medical and health needs of these vulnerable populations. Collaborate with the Social Workers on health care management and health education training to clients and staff.

A bachelor degree in nursing; Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse by the California Board of Registered Nursing; possession of certificate as a Public Health Nurse in the State of California; and possession of a valid California Class C driverís license.
- Retirement: 2% at 55 (Classic) CalPERS 2% at 62 (PEPRA).
- Health: County pays for employee and dependent premium up to $1,304.13 per month. Dental and Vision are paid by the County.
- Vacation: Accrual of 10 days per year, which increases with longevity.
- Holiday Pay: 14 scheduled days annually.
- Sick Leave: Accrual at the rate of 12 days per year.
- Life Insurance: A $10,000.00 term life insurance policy paid by the County.
- Deferred Compensation: County has plans available for employee participation through Aflac, Valic, New York Life, Edward Jones, and Nationwide 457 (b) Plan(s); however the County has no match or contribution plan.
A valid driver license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own car, provide proof of car insurance, and a DMV clearance. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Position may require pre-employment drug testing, physical and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
This position is full-time at 37.5 hours per week.
The examination process may include one or more of the following components: application evaluation, computer skills assessment, secondary screening, supplemental questionnaire, written examination, writing assessment, job related exercise, and/or a structured oral examination.
The tentative dates of the examination components are listed on the first page of this job bulletin. In the event that a supplemental questionnaire is included, please note that the answers provided may be used as a secondary screening to evaluate applicants.
The exam will be weighed based on the examination components administered for this recruitment.

About Modoc County
Modoc County, with a population of approximately 10,000, is in the far northeast corner of the state, bordered by the state of Oregon to the north and the state of Nevada to the east.
The County seat and largest city is Alturas with a population of about 3,000.
Modoc County is home to a National Wildlife Refuge that covers 6,696 acres; the refuge is an important resting and feeding area for migratory birds. In season, hunting is allowed in about one-third of the refuge. The County's predominate attribute is openness and access to the great outdoors. The high desert climate makes for warm, dry summers and cold winters. 70 percent of the County is publicly owned forest and wilderness, open to camping, fishing, cross country skiing and other outdoor pursuits.
